Dental Sedation

Many people have an underlying fear of dental treatment, often stemming from a previous bad experience. You may find treatment easier if you have some form of sedation. Dental sedation doesn’t put you to sleep like a general anaesthetic, though sometimes this is approprate for longer procedures. In most cases, it simply puts you into a deeply relaxed state. So you’re still conscious and able to chat with your dentist throughout your treatment. At Cape Road Dental, we have 3 highly experienced hospital consultants who are able to help us make nervous patients more relaxed and comfortable.

Simon Smart qualified from University College London before completing his medical training in the Midlands and carrying out specialist training at Birmingham School of Anaesthesia. Simon frequently treats patients with dental phobia and helps them feel more relaxed through the use of sedative medication.
