Uncovering the palate in this way reduces the size of your upper denture, improving taste and comfort. This is particularly beneficial if you suffer with a strong gag reflex.
The number of implants used will depend on how much bone you have and your budget. As a general rule, a minimum of 2 implants are needed in the lower jaw and 4 in the upper jaw. Placing an additional 2 implants (total of 4) in the lower jaw will improve the stability of your dentures and give you the option to upgrade to a totally fixed option in the future, should you decide to do so.
